harper's birthday party

Look who's turning three; it's Harper. This little lady's gymnastics birthday was a huge hit. The invitation was designed with owls bouncing off the trampoline, walking the balance beam and swinging from the bar. The fabulous cake created by the birthday girls aunt was adorable with a matching owl. The cupcakes had the brightest pink icing I have ever seen, with party circles, of course. The pennant banner said "Look Whoo's Three - Harper". And the favors were gummy candies in coordinating goody bags.

All of the children had a wonderful time.

Holiday Cards

It’s that time of year again to start thinking about your holiday greeting cards. Consider having beDubci Designs create a holiday card that you will be proud to send to your friends and family.

Fill out the Holiday Card Questionnaire (as soon as possible) to reserve your spot and get me brainstorming about your design.

Go to www.facebook.com/bedubcidesigns to ‘like’ my page. I am going to offer Free Printables when I reach 100 fans, my goal is to reach this before Christmas so I can do some fun Holiday Party Circles.

Suggestions for capturing some great photos for your holiday cards:

If it is too hard to get all the kids looking at the camera at the same time, and to be smiling no less, than opt for a card with multiple photos of each one individually.

Go outside to take your photos. And do it soon, we are having beautiful weather in Tulsa, so go check this off your to do list. Make it fun. Go to the park where the background is nice and just start shooting, you will get some that turn out great, I am sure.

Pay attention to lighting. Have your subject face the sun or light source and try to capture it in their eyes.

Don't use a flash when taking pet pictures, if at all possible. I can edit this but it is much different than editing red eye in humans.

The best time to take photos is early morning or late afternoon. And you want the sun at your back. If you must do it inside or you want a posed photo, drape a black sheet behind your subject.

It is ideal to use a SLR camera verses a point and shoot camera, if you don't have one, try to borrow a friend's. Head to the park together, it is easier to take pictures with two adults anyway. One behind the lens and one to watch out for the kids.

Or better yet, use a professional photographer and don't stress about getting the right picture, in fact, this way you can be in a few with your children! Check out Maggie S. Photography.

luke's carnival birthday

I love the carnival birthday theme, it lends itself to so many fun ideas. Including fun invitations with lots of great carnival fonts. The favor tags were shaped like tickets. The banner was in the aqua and red color scheme, which I love for the carnival theme. Cotton candy buckets with coordinating party labels.

annabel's strawberry birthday

A strawberry themed birthday party is perfect for a little girl. Lots of pink and red with a touch of green. Peek a boo is a loved game for all one year olds. We made "peek-a-boo paddles" for all the little ones. We did party circles for menu cards, favor tags and decor.

ava's lollipop birthday

These lollipop invitations were really fun to design. And we did tons for fun party extras such as party decor circle tags, a door sign, front porch planters with large lollipops for decoration, favor bucket labels, cupcake party circles, banner, and stationery. And Ava's mom ordered pink, green and aqua candy and lollipops to coordinate.

baby's first halloween

October 2008 was approaching and I wanted to do something fun for Halloween. I knew we would not take our 6 month old trick or treating, but I wanted to get good use out of his costume, a dalmation puppy. So I planned a Baby's First Halloween Party. To be served: bottles and brunch. I decided we should do some crafts to have for keepsakes. Spider hands, ghost feet, and thumb bats. They all turned our really cute. The favors were burp clothes with each childs name on it and a bag to take home all their crafts in.

Necessary supplies included the following:
Spiders - black contruction paper, googly eyes, glue, pencil to trace hand and scissors to cut out hands and create an oval for the body.
Bats - orange pumpkin paper or any colored construction paper, ink pad or black paint, white paint and q-tip for eyes, black paint pen for ears and wings. (We did both mommy and baby thumbs to compare how tiny they were.)
Feet - white paint, sponge paint brush, wet wipes to quickly clean feet, black construction paper to stamp foot on, black paint pen to make eyes (on heel).

custom designed gifts for baby jack

A great baby shower gift idea is a basket that includes items that coordinate with the nursery and items that mommy-to-be does not know she might need. This basket including custom burp cloths, stationery and return address labels, and bag tags. As well as gripe water, disposable changing pads (for those early messy diapers), and a square swaddle blanket.

riann and trent: purple pomanders

When Riann and I first met to discuss her wedding invitations, she showed me pictures of decorations that she loved as we were looking for inspiration. She kept pointing to hanging flower balls, or pomanders. I loved this idea because it was unique and different from anything I had done. The invitation was mounted to a green folder wrapped with beautiful purple ribbon and closed with a name card to personalize each invitation. Three pomanders hanging from a calligraphic swirl. Not all guests were invited to the ceremony because it was in a very small church. So Riann's invitaions were the opposite of most. We included a ceremony card in the invites of close friends and family. Guests who were only invited to the reception just had the reply card slipped in behind the inside ribbon. The back of the reply continued the unique use of multiple fonts intertwining. The envelope reused many interested aspects of the invitation design. Thank you notes with a slightly different look for some variety. The program I designed was very unique, bond in the upper left corner with a small detail that would let the pages twist.

The decor, escort cards and table numbers.

maggie and tommy: beach wedding invitation

Maggie asked me to design her wedding invitations for her wedding on the beach. I love the color palette she selected, orange, coral and yellow! The invitation suite was tied with yellow and white twine and personalized for the finishing touch. The two panel invitation was mounted on orange coverstock. Her wedding bouquet will be made up of dahlias so we incorporated them into the design. I design a simple monogram for the couple and used it throughout the wedding suite including on the envelope. Maggie loved the yellow stripes on the invitation so I repeated them on the reception card. The couple also wanted a place for guests to request music on their reply card.

burp clothes for drew

These burp clothes were a gift and they coordinated with Drew's Diapers and Dinners baby shower invitation.

eva's stationery

I love designing stationery. It is so personal and I can usually get it turned around quickly. My favorite designs are when I have a "theme" to use for the inspiration of my design. In this case, I was told Eva liked tulips, magnolia trees, and flamingos. Well magnolia flowers are so beautiful, that idea won hands down!!

happy birthday banner and balloons

Maggie wanted a modern, green and blue invitation for her sons 4th Jupiter Jump birthday party. I immediately thought of bouncing high in the sky. There is something about this invitation that I just love, it just looks so peaceful. A banner that matched the invitation hung between the trees in the birthday boy's backyard.

nautical bridal shower

When Susan emailed me about doing invitations for a nautical themed bridal shower I was so excited. The bride really loves to sail and is using that as part of her wedding theme, how fun! The hostesses also wanted coordinating menu cards for each food selection.

tulsa town hall

The Tulsa Town Hall 75th anniversary was a wonderful event. I was so delighted to be asked to create escort cards and party circles for the dessert. Being the 75th anniversary, the theme was diamonds. So I created escort cards with a diamond watermark in the background and turned the card 45 degrees to be a diamond rather than a square. The were four different party circle designs. And they were planted in the middle of this divine dessert. At the last minute, I was also asked to do some table numbers. The table numbers are shown in the pictures below, but most importantly look at all of the beautiful flowers. Jane of Jane Butts {events and interiors} created all of the gorgeous flower arrangements and coordinated the decor for the event.

stephanie's baby shower

Stephanie selected classic pooh bedding for her "surprise" baby's nursery. It was a surprise because that did not find out the gender. I was really happy with how the invitations turned out. I coordinated the invitation design to go with the bedding. And for a gift created coordinating burp cloth designs.
